| SEQUENCE TO PROVIDE FREE EPC WITH HOME CONVEYANCING |
| |
As news the UK Government needs to take drastic action on climate change hits the headlines, national estate agency network Sequence is doing its bit by offering homeowners free Energy Performance Certificates* when they choose to use its home conveyancing services to complete their sale. The offer, which is worth £79 plus VAT, should help those who want to move home but remain uncertain about the initial costs.
“Although Home Information Packs were suspended from 21 May, sellers still need to have commissioned an EPC in order to market their property,” says Simon Cross, Divisional Managing Director for Sequence. “Our new offer should help sellers get their home on the market more cost effectively, as well as providing them with an excellent, fixed price conveyancing service which comes with our ‘no sale no fee’ guarantee.”
EPCs, which are required on every building built, sold or let from October 2008, are produced by accredited energy assessors and provide ‘A’ to ‘G’ ratings with ‘A’ being the most energy efficient. They are designed to help improve buildings energy efficiency and were introduced to help cut carbon emissions and tackle climate change.
“The suspension of HIPs was great news for the housing market and we expect to see many more speculative sellers as a result of this move by the new coalition Government,” Simon continues. “By removing the cost of the EPC, we are making it even easier for homeowners to put their properties on the market and I hope it will encourage people who are keen to move to test the market soon.”
