History
This beautifully restored Grade II listed property that dates back to 1877 and was originally designed by Charles Bell for John Stephens Donne of the Flax Mills family. Built using Doulting and Bath stone ashlar, a plain grey roof and ashlar chimney stacks with ornamental caps, this stunning piece of architecture boasts a rich and fascinating historical story. In World War II American Forces occupied the Priory. Following the war it became the convent home of the Sisters of Jesus Crucified who inhabited the building until 1997.
